How do I get a Little Package cap?
Thanks for your interest! You can buy my caps online at little-package.com/shop or at Etsy. Or, if you want something even more unique, you should contact me and arrange to have a custom cap made. As of April 15, 2013 I am on a “sabbatical” and not making caps — learn more here. A few goodies such as digital sewing patterns are still available in this online shop.
Do you sell in any stores?
Not at this time.
Do you take bulk orders or orders for resale?
Currently I am only taking one-off personal orders, and occasionally make caps for small local (Portland) teams and groups. Please, no mass production inquiries or orders for resale.
I’d like a cap in my favorite color with my team name on the side.
I cannot stock all the colors people would like, else I would not have room for the desk I’m sitting at! If you have an old shirt, pair of pants, or were just a the fabric store and saw a fabric you loved, send it to me. It is up to you to decide if you think the fabric is too heavy, too stretchy, a poor quality, or just too ugly to make a cap from, though I reserve the right to refuse to sew unwieldy fabrics (such as upholstery fabric, heavy denim, leathers, fake furs). A safe place to start is with cotton wovens like twills, small wale corduroy, poplins, and lightweight canvases and denims. Even quilting cotton will work.
Can you screen-print? Will you embroider?
No. But my caps can usually be printed or embroidered by a third party before or after they are sewn. I put this responsibility in your hands.
Can you make me a tweed bowler cap/cowboy hat/flat cap?
No. I make cycling caps. When I have time to design/sew anything but cycling caps, I use the time to create something for myself. Sorry!
Will you pre-shrink the fabric you use?
All cotton fabric is pre-washed and dried in hypo-allergenic fashion by machine. New wools are not washed prior to sewing, but all recycled wools are hand-washed and air-dried. Fabrics sent to me may or may not be washed before sewing, depending on their condition. I live in a non-smoking home.
How do you make cycling caps?
Scissors, fabric, needle, thread, and love. If you’d like to make one yourself, I’d be happy to sell you one of my “Cycling Cap Pattern/Instruction Kits.”
Can you alter or repair my cap?
Yes, if you bought it from me.
What if my cap doesn’t fit?
Please let me know if there is a problem with your cap. I’ll fix it.
Are your caps washable?
Yes. Caps should be gently hand washed in cool or lukewarm water with mild soap, shaped, and air-dried. Medium iron is OK. If you have purchased a cotton cap with a soft bill, it can be laundered in cool or warm water and dried by machine.
Your website is cool. Who built it?
Thanks! I built it!
I can’t access my download
I’m sorry you’re having trouble. I’ve set download limits (15 times) and expirations (90 days), and it seems like most the time people reach this lockout is because they are referencing their file straight off my server and never download it to their local system… or they’ve nuked their system files. Get in touch for another chance at downloading, and please keep it safe on your disks!
