Hello from the Eastern Sierra, where it is too beautiful to describe. We also got to drive through Red Rocks this morning, but couldn’t stop or Chief Pete would overheat. Overall a perfect drive, and we’re excited to be in Lone Pine in Mt Whitney’s shadow.

(In hindsight, this was to be the very first time I saw the Owens Valley from the ground. I saw it from above the year before. Honest to God, it was love at first sight.)
