Clouds RIP 2013.07.01 Latergram, Pacific Crest Trail July 1, Yosemite. Despite a huge thunderstorm, Wagon Wheel and I decided to summit Cloud’s Rest. We renamed it Cloud’s Unrest or Clouds RIP. Passed by Anish 2013.06.30 Latergram, Pacific Crest Trail Mile 929.5. The South side of Donohue Pass with JMT hikers (another breed of hiker). This set up has been particularly difficult with the mosquitoes in the High Sierra. I have to plan camp every night, trying to find a breezy ridge or at least somewhere away from water. Then, luckily and somehow, most the mossies are too stupid to fly low enough to get under the lower lip of my tarp. But still, I wouldn’t mind a moment of peace from bugs. Sometimes they’re so thick I put on all my rain gear or my nylon pants (mosquitoes cannot bite through nylon) and sometimes even then, I find myself RUNNING. Hate complaining but this place would be perfect […] Read more
